Chez les yé-yé

Neither the tam-tams* of the  yé-yé-yé-é**
Nor the gray-gray*** that you were wearing
You were listening to ``da doo ron ron''
At the party doum doum where you were dancing

No nothing will change my mind
I'll find you my Lolita
With the yé-yés

Under the drums of the yé-yé yé-é
I'll cause a scene I know myself
Yes I'll finish in Sing-Sing
I have a switch-switch blade

No nothing will change my mind
I'll find you my Lolita
With the  yé-yés

Have a flashback to the past
Do you hear what I'm telling you
I'm crazy-crazy to love you.
Ni les tams-tams des yé-yé-yé-é
Ni les gris-gris que tu portais
Da doo ron ron que tu écoutais
Au bal doum doum où tu dansais

Non rien n'aura raison de moi
J'irai t'chercher ma Lolita
Chez les yé-yé

Sous les tams-tams des yé-yé-yé-é
J'f'rai du ramdam je me connais
Oui à Sing-Sing je finirai
J'ai un coupe-coupe à cran d'arrêt

Non rien n'aura raison de moi
J'irai chercher ma Lolita
Chez les yé-yé

Fais un flash-back au temps passé
Est-ce que t'entends c'que j'te disais
Je suis fou fou fou de t'aimer

*A tam-tam is pretty much any kind of drum.

**yé-yé was a movement in French and Québecois music in the 1960s. ''Yé-yé'' is supposedly a deformation of ``yeah yeah,'' and was commonly used as a refrain in songs.

***``gris-gris'' is two things at once: it is first a repeating of the word color word ``gray,'' but ``gris-gris" is also a Creol word meaning a magic vodoo charm or talisman.
